Yes you will need to be 18 and you must bring a valid ID to your appointment.
Prices vary depending on size, location, the amount of color, and how detailed the piece is. I currently have a $100 minimum. I give quotes based on the piece or I'll give you a session quote.
I prefer to schedule appointments in advance, but if you're looking to get something done you can always message me on my Instagram (@raine.clouds.tattoos) and I'll get back to you with my soonest availability. Impromptu appointments are not my forte so please be patient with response times.
You can fill out a form in the "Book Online" Tab, which is what I would prefer, but you can also reach out on Instagram @raine.clouds.tattoos or email me at raine.clouds.tattoos@gmail.com - However, I will most likely refer you to the online form or have you fill out a very similar document.
I typically tattoo Tuesday through Friday from 11 am- 5pm, and Saturday from 12pm-4pm. For the time being I will not be booking sessions longer than 4 hours (i.e. sleeve work, etc.) during the weekend. My hours may be flexible depending on the circumstances, but for the most part I don't tattoo outside these hours. Holidays vary.
All the information I need is included in the request form in the "Book Online" tab. I'll need to have the size and placement of the tattoo you're interested in getting and any photo references you may have. I'll also need to know whether you want color or black and gray. If you have any health restrictions, allergies, or this is your first tattoo please let me know in advance. Any questions you might have are welcome. Once I've given you a quote and you've put down a deposit I'll book your appointment in my calendar.
Yes- during the process of booking your appointment I will send you a document that fully details what you need to do prior to your appointment, my policies, and any additional information you may need.
I do require deposits to book an appointment. The price of the deposit will depend on the overall price of the tattoo. They're non refundable and are meant to compensate for my time drawing and to book the slot in my calendar. Your deposit is still valid if you need to reschedule as long as you give a 24 hour notice. If you don't give proper notice or no call/no show you'll lose your deposit and have to put down another deposit to book another appointment.
It's typically recommended that you get a good night's sleep, eat, and drink water before you come in. You're welcome to bring a snack or drink with you to your appointment. You won't be able to eat where we tattoo but you're welcome to take breaks any time. I don't recommend shaving the area where you're getting the tattoo prior to your appointment to avoid any irritation on the skin. I will send you a detailed summary of what to do prior to your appointment after booking.
I don't typically send the designs to clients ahead of time. I'm more than willing to make changes to the design the day of your appointment. If you're adamant about seeing the design ahead of time please let me know in advance when booking the appointment and we can set up a time to have you approve the design. However, it's very important that you're as detailed as possible when initially reaching out for me to start the design because if I have to redesign the tattoo (meaning fully redraw it) you will need to place another deposit and re-book your appointment.
Please let me know as soon as possible. I won't be hurt or offended if you want to make changes. I would rather spend more time on the design than give you a tattoo you don't really want. If the changes you're requesting are difficult to get done in a reasonable amount of time, I will reschedule the appointment. As long as the changes you're requesting don't compromise the legibility/ longevity of the tattoo I'm happy to work with you. If the changes end up turning the tattoo into a bigger project the price may change and you may need to put down another deposit (i.e bigger than we had agreed, more detailed, adding full color, complete redesign etc.)
I prefer cash, but will accept etransfers such as Venmo and Cash App if necessary. I am able to accept credit cards but only with an additional 2.7% fee.
Of course, I love getting to know people. Some days I'm quieter than others, so if I'm not talkative I'm probably trying to focus. If you don't like to talk, that's totally fine too.
Yes I do give in-person consultations. Please send me a message or email to book a consultation. You will have to put down a $25 retainer to book a consultation. If you cancel without 24 hour notice or don't show up, I'll keep the retainer, but if you come in and decide to book an appointment it will go toward your deposit. If you come in and decide not to book, you will get your retainer back in full. I can do consultations over the phone with the same process, but I don't recommend them as sometimes details can get lost. If I ask you to come in to take reference photos or go over details and you've already placed a deposit, there is no additional retainer.
For some tattoos there isn't really much of a problem with this, but for others, especially larger pieces it can cause complications. Let me know at least a week in advance if you're considering a placement change, because I may need to redesign the tattoo to flow better with your body.
Yes, generally you get a free touch up with your tattoo as long as it takes under an hour and it's within a year of originally getting the tattoo. If you had an accident or issue with healing that makes the touch up more complicated, you'll have to pay $60-$200 depending on the severity and time it takes to touch up.
